Melanie Lane has appeared in many film, music video, t.v., and stage productions as a featured Bellydancer.


She is known and sought out for her passionate performance style and technical finesse, and has worked closely and collaborated with the top dancers and musicians in Bellydance, including Sahra Saeeda, Jillina, Tamra Henna, Faisal Zedan, Baheyya El-Ghazal, and dancers from the Bellydance Superstars. Her training in Middle Eastern dances includes workshops and intensives with Karim Nagi, Nadia Hamdi of Egypt, Morrocco and Gamila El Masri of New York, Cassandra Shore, Aziza of Montreal, Momo Kadous of Egypt, and many more. Melanie also attended the Suhaila Salimpour School of Belly Dance, taking classes 5 days a week with Suhaila, Jamila Salimpour, and senior Suhaila Dance Company members, as well as the weekly SDC and Bal Anat company rehearsals.


Melanie has trained in Middle Eastern dances since 1995 and focuses on the Golden Age, Classical Raqs Sharqi, American Cabaret, and Modern Fusion styles. She is a cross-trained professional dancer whose talents have been recognized by the LA Opera and contemporary dance artists. She has performed with 5 International Dance Companies, in the t.v. show Drive, in the feature film A Numbers Game, in concert with the Persian singers Andy and Valy, and in the LA Opera production of Tannhauser. 

Melanie is the Artistic Director, main Choreographer, and a Principal Dancer for Co Nouveau.
